Day 1

Day 1:

In the morning, we all got on the bus ready to go to Pilgrim Hall, our base for the three days we were in the city for. When we arrived we went into Pilgrim Hall and had to sign in. Most people, including me, put a tick in the box instead of signing it and we got told off for that. After that we had a sort of debrief on what was expected of us. Then the other class had a tour in the Medina Hotel while my class had half an hour to either go and complete an investigation or stay in Pilgrim Hall. My group decided we would go to Victoria Square to complete the investigation there. When it got close to 10:30 we headed back to Pilgrim to get ready for our tour of the Medina Hotel.

At the Medina we split up into two groups, one boys and one girls. we didn't have much time on the tour so we ended up asking our guide the questions we needed and he gave us them even thought they were challenging, even for him.

We then went back to Pilgrim to get our hats and set off for Rundle Mall. We were going to do an investigation here but never ended up doing, instead we walked around and had a look at everything, we saw a lot of busker's and Sam gave one some money. We then went into the Myer Center and had a look at some shops in there before going down to the food court to get some lunch. Me and Peter went and got some KFC while James bought some McDonalds and Sam Subway. Giorgio brought some lunch from home. After this we went back up to Rundle Mall, but on the way got side tracked by a skill tester machine where we tried to get chocolate. We ended up using $14 and only got two chocolates, it was a waste of money but was good fun. :)

After Rundle Mall we headed to North Terrace to try and catch the City Loop Bus. We waited until a bus came and i flagged it down but it didn't stop so we had to wait another 15 minutes. When the next one came Sam tried to flag it down but this one didn't stop either, turns out we were at the wrong stop so we didn't get time to get on the Bus and ended up going to the Grote St Library for a talk with a man named Andrew Bollen. He never showed up so we got more time to do an investigation. Me and my group went over the road to the Central Markets to do some of the investigation there. We went to the food court and Giorgio got some Brown Sticky Rice and Soya Bean thing and i got a bottle of coke.

We then headed back to Pilgrim as the day was over. When there, we filled in what we would to the next day and signed out. I walked up to Wakefield Street to catch a bus back to school. Turns out there were a lot of people doing this as well. I got back to school and got on the school bus and went home.

That was day one.

Blog Entry #3

"Why and how must environments change?"

I think environments should change because if they stay the way they are, then the city and surrounding areas will become more polluted.

I think the city environment should change by less cars on the road and more public transport more often. If this happens then we can reduce pollution in the city, making it a better place to go.

I don't go into the city very much, the only reason i go there is to go to things on such as the cricket or shopping. My favourite part of the city would be Rundle Mall with the Malls Balls. The best fun I've had in the city would be when i was younger and my cousin took me into the city and we rolled aroud on some hills near the River Torrens. I haven't been to the city centre much and don't really have an opinion on it.
